Recognizing and Rewarding Excellence in Medical Science and Leadership Development
On behalf of the McGodfred Family Endowment Trust, the Board of Trustees of the McGodfred Foundation and the Planning Committee of the Footprints of Excellence Awards, the management team of the McGodfred Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2026 FOOTPRINTS OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS has been scheduled as follows:

We are pleased to confirm that the McGodfred Foundation is honored and privileged to have Dr. Nancy Newman, MD, as the Keynote Speaker for the night. Dr. Newman is the world's renowned Neuro-Ophthalmologist, who is also a pioneer in Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy.
The award categories of the 2026 FOOTPRINTS OF EXCELLENCE are as follows:

McGodfred Foundation Makes Two Major Hirings
SHAUNA JACKSON
Regional Coordinating Director [Africa and The Middle East]
The Board of Trustees of the McGodfred Foundation has approved the appointment of Ms. Shauna Jackson as Regional Coordinating Director in charge of Africa and the Middle East operations. Ms. Jackson's appointment takes immediate effect; and she has reported to the McGodfred Foundation's Africa and The Middle East Regional Coordinating Office in Accra, Ghana.
Shauna Jackson is a seasoned foreign relations expert with over 12 years of combined professional working experience with USAID and the Clinton Global Initiative.
MARCELLA BROWN
Global Director of Beneficiary Relations
On October 14, 2024, Marcella Brown assumed office at the McGodfred Foundation's headquarters in Atlanta, GA as the Foundation's newly-appointed Global Director of Beneficiary Relations.
The enormity of the portfolio of this job and the onerous responsibilities that come with executing it make Ms. Brown the right and uniquely qualified person for the position, and the Board of Trustees of the McGodfred Foundation had no hesitation in approving her appointment.
